about

Out Jan 20th 2023, Grounding Place Vol. 2 is Nora’s second album, a sequel to her debut release. Volume 2 is presented as the contrasting completion of what was expressed in Volume 1, with a more pensive and introspective approach to Nora’s songwriting, production and performance.

Whereas Vol.1 gave us a vibrant energy filled with light and celebration, Vol.2 explores themes that are more personal and sensitive to the artist such as self confidence, communication with closed ones or even, sensuality.
If one was the sun, the other one is the moon. The colour palette of this album is much darker, yet retains the warmth and soul that is ever present in Nora’s sound.
With the release of her two first singles from this project, Words and Grounding Place, Nora also showcases her talents as a director in the visual medium with two contrasting yet equally stunning music videos. Here we see to what extent Nora’s hometown of Rabat, Morocco plays an important role in defining the essence of who she is not only as a person but as an artist.

Grounding Place Vol.2 also sees the return of one of Nora’s most trusted collaborators, Chris Vincent of Busty and The Bass, who produced, engineered and mixed the album. Even though this project is a contrasting departure from Vol. 1, we feel the cohesive continuity through this collaboration and the duo’s trademark sound blending synth pop with soul, rnb, and afro-beat.
